Lindsey Buckingham Prepares New Solo Album — “The Culmination of 25 Years” of Work

Veteran rocker Lindsey Buckingham — known for his time with Fleetwood Mac and a long solo career — has confirmed that he’s working on a brand-new solo album, sending a fresh wave of excitement through his fans.

In a social-media video post, Buckingham described the new record with both humility and confidence, explaining: “This new album is just representative of the culmination of everything that I’ve learned from making solo albums over the last 25 years. I feel like this particular album is the culmination of holding a certain line ethically and idealistically that I’ve managed to maintain for many years. I’m really excited about this piece of work.”

However, he didn’t name the album or reveal a release date — those details remain under wraps, leaving the project shrouded in anticipation.

This upcoming release will mark Buckingham’s eighth solo studio album — his first since the self-titled album “Lindsey Buckingham” in 2021.  Over the decades, his solo work has offered a different side to his artistry: often more experimental, deeply personal, and less bound by the mainstream expectations that come with Fleetwood Mac.

Reflecting on his solo roots, Buckingham recalled his first album, Law and Order (1981), which featured his former bandmate on drums and broke him out as a solo artist beyond the band.  Over the subsequent decades, he’s steadily built a catalog of solo work that often leans toward introspection, experimentation, and artistic freedom.

Despite the mystery surrounding the new album — no title, no release date — Buckingham’s announcement signals that he’s still deeply invested in music. For many fans, it’s a promising reminder that even decades into a storied career, creativity and evolution are far from over.
