Legendary Brian May has revealed that he is contributing music to the upcoming film Masters of the Universe, the long-awaited live-action adaptation of the classic He-Man franchise.
The Queen guitarist shared the exciting news with fans through a social media post, where he referenced the iconic line from the original animated series.
“I have the POWER!!!!”
May wrote that he had been spending time in the studio working on the project alongside director Travis Knight, film composer Daniel Pemberton, and engineer Sam Okell.
According to May, the collaboration has been a joyful experience — and fans should expect to hear his famous guitar tone in the film.
“Great joy to work tonight on the brand new He-Man movie… And yes — my old Red Special is all over it!”
Brian May’s Iconic Guitar Will Be Part of the Film
May also confirmed that his legendary handmade guitar, the Red Special, will feature heavily in the soundtrack. The instrument, which he built with his father in the 1960s, is responsible for many of Queen’s most recognizable guitar sounds.
The guitarist joked that the instrument will bring some serious rock energy to the fantasy film, hinting that fans should “watch out” for the powerful riffs woven into the score.
A Movie Decades in the Making
The new Masters of the Universe film has been in development for many years. The project faced numerous delays before finally gaining momentum after Amazon MGM Studios took over production.
The upcoming movie will star:

The story reportedly follows Prince Adam returning to the magical world of Eternia after years away, where he must reclaim the Sword of Power and face the villainous Skeletor.
The film is currently scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
