Industrial rock pioneers Nine Inch Nails have announced a new collaborative project with electronic producer Boys Noize. The project is titled Nine Inch Noize, and it is set to arrive April 17, 2026.
The record marks a deeper collaboration between Boys Noize — whose real name is Alexander Ridha — and Nine Inch Nails’ core creative duo, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The announcement comes just days before the artists are scheduled to perform together at the Coachella Festival, where they will appear under the joint name Nine Inch Noize.
The album will be released as “Halo 38,” continuing Nine Inch Nails’ long-running catalog system in which every official release is assigned a Halo number — a tradition that dates back to the band’s earliest records.
Rumors about the collaboration began circulating earlier this week when a mysterious billboard appeared near Indio, California, teasing the project and its release date ahead of Coachella. Soon after, Nine Inch Nails confirmed the album through their official social media accounts and opened pre-saves for the release.
The partnership between Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize has been building for several years. Ridha first worked with Reznor and Ross in 2024, when he remixed their score for the film Challengers. He later contributed to projects connected to their Tron: Ares soundtrack and continued collaborating with the band during live performances.
Boys Noize also toured with Nine Inch Nails during the “Peel It Back” tour, often joining Reznor and Ross onstage to perform electronic reinterpretations of classic Nine Inch Nails songs. Those performances featured club-driven, techno-influenced versions of the band’s material and hinted at the sonic direction the new project could take.
While full details about the album’s tracklist have not yet been revealed, the collaboration is expected to combine the heavy industrial sound that defines Nine Inch Nails with Boys Noize’s aggressive electronic production style.
The announcement has already generated significant anticipation among fans, especially with the duo preparing to debut the project live at Coachella. The release of Nine Inch Noize will mark another expansion of the Nine Inch Nails universe — and one of the band’s most unusual collaborations in years.
