Meghan Patrick is stepping away from the road for the rest of 2026 after revealing that her pregnancy has brought complications serious enough to force her to cancel her remaining tour dates. The Canadian country singer said the decision was not made lightly, but that her health and the well-being of her baby girl now have to come first. Her cancellations begin with June shows, following the final dates she still plans to complete in May.

Patrick shared the news in an emotional video posted to social media, where she admitted that her first instinct after learning she was pregnant was to keep pushing through as if nothing had changed. She said she originally believed pregnancy would not have to affect her career, but conversations with doctors, her husband Mitchell Tenpenny, her family, and her team changed that perspective. “I was determined not to slow down,” she explained, before adding that she had realized she had nothing to prove and that her baby girl’s well-being had to come first.

The singer said much of the schedule she had built for this year was booked before she knew she was expecting, and that she had underestimated how demanding this season would become. In her post and follow-up reporting, she pointed to a difficult stretch that included complications, hospital visits, exhaustion, and the anxiety connected to having experienced a previous miscarriage. That combination, she said, made her take a hard look at what mattered most right now.

Patrick said she will finish the last few shows already scheduled for May, then step away from touring for the rest of the year. She also said she plans to reschedule the Golden Child dates later and that fans who bought tickets for the canceled shows will receive full refunds. Taste of Country reported that 11 dates are being scrapped, including shows in Canada and the U.S., with the cancellations beginning in June.

In her message, Patrick was candid about the pressure she has felt as a woman in the music industry, saying she has spent years believing she had to constantly work harder and sacrifice more to earn her place. But she said she does not want to reinforce the idea that women have to run themselves into the ground to succeed. For her, this moment is about choosing motherhood and health without apology.

She also made clear that this is not the end of her music career. Patrick said she is still writing and recording, and even suggested she feels some of the strongest songs of her life are coming now. She stressed that she is not quitting, just changing how she moves forward for the sake of her family and her own health.

Patrick and Mitchell Tenpenny announced their pregnancy on March 31, 2026, sharing that they were expecting a baby girl later this year. The couple married in 2022, and the pregnancy marks a major new chapter in their lives.

For now, the message from Patrick is simple: she is pausing touring, protecting her health, and focusing on the baby she and Tenpenny have long hoped for. She told fans she will be back when the time is right.
