Tom Morello has been forced to put two of his European shows on hold after a family emergency interrupted his tour plans. According to a statement he shared on Instagram Stories, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist was due to play Electric Brixton in London on June 15 and Le Bataclan in Paris on June 16, but both dates have now been postponed. Electric Brixton has confirmed the delay on its own event page and said tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled show.
In his message to fans, Morello apologized for the disruption and stressed how much he values the people waiting to see him. He said he was sorry to postpone the London and Paris shows, added that he had “so much love and respect” for fans in both cities, and thanked everyone for their understanding. No new date has been announced yet for either concert.
The postponement comes in the middle of an active European run that had already taken Morello through major festival stops, including Download Festival in the UK on June 14. That set leaned hard into his signature mix of protest rock, solo material, and crowd-pleasing classics, with songs including “Soldier in the Army of Love,” “Adjourn It,” “Let’s Get the Party Started,” “Like a Stone,” “Killing in the Name,” and “Power to the People.” His tour is still slated to continue to Belgium on June 18, then Nijmegen on June 22, before later dates in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Bilbao on June 27.
The original show listings also show how much this leg was built around Morello’s wider solo era: London was scheduled with James and the Cold Gun as support, while Paris was listed with The Last Internationale. For now, though, the focus is on the family matter that pulled him away, and on when fans in both cities will finally get their night back.
