Brandin Cooks hopes to return to the Bills after Buffalo’s playoff heartbreak.

Brandin Cooks is not ready to let Buffalo’s playoff heartbreak fade quietly.

The veteran wide receiver said the Bills’ overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round still lingers, but he is determined to turn that frustration into motivation as he prepares for another NFL season. Buffalo’s official game recap confirms that the Bills fell 33-30 in Denver on Jan. 17, 2026, after a controversial overtime interception ended the drive that could have set up a potential game-winning field goal.

Cooks, who joined Buffalo late in the 2025 season, said he still believes the play should have stood as a catch. He made clear, however, that the only way to move forward is to get back on the field and prove it in the next opportunity. The Bills signed Cooks in November 2025 after his release from New Orleans, and the move gave Buffalo another experienced option in a receiver room that continued to evolve through the offseason.

Now 32 years old and entering his 13th NFL season, Cooks remains one of the league’s most experienced wideouts. Pro Football Reference lists him with 734 career receptions, 9,811 receiving yards and 60 receiving touchdowns, numbers that underline why teams still view him as a valuable veteran presence.

Cooks also said Buffalo is the place he would most like to remain. He pointed to his confidence in Josh Allen and the chance to build on unfinished business with the Bills, noting that training camp is where the work and chemistry really take shape. “Buffalo is the place I’d love to be,” Cooks said, while also stressing his belief in Allen and the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful role.

The timing matters. Training camp is approaching, and Cooks has limited time to decide where he will play in 2026. Buffalo has already reinforced its receiver room with DJ Moore and Skyler Bell, so the front office has options either way. Still, with his experience, production and familiarity with Allen, Cooks could be part of Buffalo’s best path back to contention if the two sides find common ground.
