AC/DC Breaks Silence To Countdown To A Big Announcement

AC/DC

AC/DC recently piqued fans’ interest with a cryptic video posted on their social media platforms. While some speculate on a new album, many are looking forward to a possible tour, especially since Brian Johnson was temporarily replaced by Axl Rose due to hearing issues during their previous one in 2016.

Interestingly, the video comes as bassist Cliff Williams is rumoured to be leaving the band. The Instagram post contained a simple message: “Are you ready?”

Fans responded with their hopes and theories. One fan expressed enthusiasm for a tour, saying, “LET THERE BE A TOUR!!!” Another, wary of previous substitutions, preferred Brian Johnson’s return over Axl Rose. Meanwhile, speculation about a new album surfaced with the discovery of a new logo design.

Adding to the intrigue, a subsequent video on their X teased a countdown, implying an impending announcement.

Dean Delray, a comedian and devoted AC/DC fan, addressed the speculation by sharing insider information about the band’s 2024 tour. Delray confirmed that Cliff Williams will not be joining the tour, as he retired after the last one in 2016. According to Delray, AC/DC will hire a new bassist for this year’s tour, which confirms Williams’ previous statements about not touring again.

The plot thickens with reports of a rumoured European tour, which was originally intended to be kept secret. During a council meeting, Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter inadvertently revealed AC/DC’s planned performance at Munich’s Olympic Stadium on June 12. After the unintentional reveal, Reiter joked, “I didn’t know it was supposed to be a secret.”

While AC/DC or their representatives have yet to confirm the rumours, journalist José Norberto Flesch has hinted at a possible appearance at the Rock In Rio festival in September 2024. Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation of what promises to be an electrifying comeback.
