“AC/DC: The World’s Greatest Rock Band” TV Special to Launch Just Before Their Australian Tour

Australian music fans are in for a treat: a television special titled “AC/DC: The World’s Greatest Rock Band” will air on Sunday, November 2 at 9:00 p.m. AEST on The Seven Network’s 7News and 7plus, just days before the band hits the road for their long-awaited Australian tour.

The one-hour documentary chronicles the improbable journey of AC/DC—from two brothers in Sydney to one of the most influential rock bands in history. Viewers will see rare footage, previously unseen tapes, and brand-new interviews with rock heavyweights including Dave Grohl, Slash, Tim Rogers (You Am I), and members of Amyl and the Sniffers and Wolfmother.

The timing couldn’t be better. AC/DC’s Power Up Australian Tour begins November 12 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and wraps up December 14 in Brisbane, with stops in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. Supporting acts include Amyl and the Sniffers, plus local openers like The Casanovas, Large Mirage, Oscar the Wild, The Southern River Band and Headsend.

This is the band’s first Australian tour since 2015, and the special underscores the magnitude of its return. AC/DC holds over 200 million album sales worldwide, and their legendary LP Back in Black remains a milestone in rock.

As fans prepare for a tour filled with thunderous riffs and timeless hits, the television special offers a moment to reflect, remember—and anticipate what’s next. AC/DC isn’t just back in Australia; they’re reminding a new generation why they are truly rocks’ greatest export.
