Aerosmith’s partnership with Yungblud is turning out to be more than just a one-off appearance. After joining forces at the MTV VMAs for a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the rock legends and the British punk star are preparing to release a brand-new collaborative single titled “My Only Angel.” Fans can already presave the track, with a full release expected soon.
Both artists teased the song on Monday by sharing a clip from the studio. The footage shows Steven Tyler and Yungblud trading soaring vocal lines in the booth, singing, “Will you cry if I call you my angel? Gotta leave, gotta leave, gotta leave you one more time.” The clip ends with Yungblud planting a kiss on Tyler’s cheek, while Tyler laughs and shouts, “Nice! Fuckin’ A!”
Aerosmith’s First New Music in Over a Decade
The upcoming single is especially significant for Aerosmith, as “My Only Angel” will mark their first release of new music in over ten years. The band’s last studio album, Music From Another Dimension!, came out in 2012. It also represents Aerosmith’s first major move since officially retiring from touring in 2023, after Tyler sustained a vocal injury that forced them to cancel their Peace Out farewell tour.
Since then, Tyler has only made brief appearances onstage. He turned heads in July at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell show, performing classics like “Train Kept A-Rollin’,” “Walk This Way,” and even a raucous cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Yungblud also performed that night, delivering a widely praised version of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.”

Carrying the Energy into the VMAs
Their chemistry was reignited at last weekend’s MTV VMAs, where Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry once again joined Yungblud onstage for an Ozzy Osbourne tribute. The set included Yungblud’s renditions of “Crazy Train” and “Changes” before the group came together for a heartfelt performance of Osbourne’s ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”
With “My Only Angel,” the unexpected pairing of Aerosmith and Yungblud promises to bridge generations of rock, blending Tyler’s legendary voice with Yungblud’s modern punk edge. For Aerosmith fans, it’s a long-awaited return. For Yungblud, it’s another bold move that cements his place alongside rock’s most iconic names.
