Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee has officially confirmed that fans can expect a new studio album from the band in 2026. During a backstage interview at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2025 in Los Angeles, Lee provided a promising update on the band’s progress in the recording studio.
Speaking with host Kevin Ryder at the annual holiday concert, Lee revealed that the follow-up to 2021’s The Bitter Truth is nearing completion. When asked about the timeline for the new record, Lee stated, “Next year, let’s say that. A few more lyrics to write, but it’s going very well and I’m really excited about it.”

This confirmation caps off a highly active year for the group. Throughout 2025, Evanescence maintained a strong presence on the global touring circuit, notably supporting Metallica on stadium dates in Australia and New Zealand. Lee described those shows as “incredible,” noting that the run went “really, really, really well.”
The upcoming album will serve as the centerpiece for what promises to be an extensive 2026 for the band. Evanescence has already announced a massive world tour scheduled to kick off in June 2026. The trek will feature a diverse lineup of support acts, including Poppy, Spiritbox, Nova Twins, and K.Flay. Lee previously expressed her enthusiasm for this lineup, stating, “Collaborating with K.Flay, Poppy and Courtney LaPlante made me want to create a world where we could share stages together, and I’m thrilled we are going to make it happen! I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on.”
The tour is set to hit major amphitheaters across North America, starting in West Palm Beach, Florida, before heading to Europe for a string of arena dates in cities like London, Paris, and Berlin later in the fall.
Lee’s update suggests that the band is in the final stages of production, with only lyrical finishing touches remaining. As the band prepares to transition from the Bitter Truth era, this new project marks their first collection of all-new material in five years.
