BBC Confirms New Air Date for Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home

The BBC has confirmed that Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, a documentary following the final years of the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, will air on BBC One and iPlayer at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The one-hour film was originally set to premiere on August 18 but was unexpectedly pulled from the schedule that very day. At the time, the BBC released a statement explaining the decision was made out of respect for the Osbourne family’s wishes, noting, “Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time. We are respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film.”

Filmed over three years, Coming Home was initially planned as a ten-part series titled Home to Roost, but as Ozzy’s health declined, it was reworked into a standalone feature capturing his final chapter. The documentary explores his move back to the UK with Sharon Osbourne, his battles with Parkinson’s disease and ongoing health issues, and his farewell concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham in July 2025.

In addition to the BBC project, a separate two-hour film titled Ozzy: No Escape From Now will debut on Paramount+ on October 7, offering an even deeper look at the Prince of Darkness’s life and legacy through interviews with his family and closest friends.
