Black Veil Brides Drummer Christian ‘CC’ Coma Exits European Tour Over Heartbreaking Family Emergency

Rock stalwarts Black Veil Brides have been forced to make an abrupt and deeply emotional lineup adjustment mid-tour. The band formally confirmed that longtime percussionist Christian “CC” Coma is stepping away from the remaining dates of their 2026 European trek to confront an urgent, deeply sensitive family crisis.

The Sudden Shift and Milan Cancellation

The ripple effects of the emergency were first felt by the fanbase on Saturday, June 6, when the group broke the news across their official social media channels. The band’s statement addressed the sudden cancellation of their scheduled performance at the Magnolia Summer Club in Milan, Italy, while offering clarity on the developing situation:

“Due to an unfortunate personal and private matter, our brother Christian Coma will not be on stage with us for the remainder of the 2026 European tour. We apologize for those who have noted the already announced Milan cancellation but this is a circumstance we needed to make adjustments to handle… please send [Coma] love and light at this time.”

Christian ‘CC’ Coma Breaks Silence on His Father’s Health

While the band’s initial address kept the specific details private out of respect, Coma later took to his personal Instagram Story to share the painful truth with the BVB Army. Revealing that his father is entering the end-of-life stage, the drummer shared an incredibly moving and vulnerable message:

“I have never felt such an overwhelming sense of love and support from all of my family, friends, and fans. Thank you so much for reaching out and caring. It truly makes me feel appreciated. My Dad is nearing the end, and I have to be there for the man that made me am who I am [sic]. I apologize to my brothers and sisters in the BVB camp, the fans, and everyone affected by my exit from the tour, but I simply ask for your understanding during this trying time. I truly wish I could finish this tour and give it my all for you, however I couldn’t live with myself if I wasn’t there for him during his final days. I will return stronger than ever, and please do me a favor by going extra hard during the shows that I miss.”

Wade Murff Steps In; Future Tour Outlook

To ensure the momentum of the European run isn’t lost, Black Veil Brides have tapped veteran drummer Wade Murff (known for his work with Godsmack and Orgy) to take over the drum throne. Murff will command the kit for the remainder of the European dates, starting immediately after the band’s appearance at this weekend’s massive Rock Am Ring festival. Showing solidarity with his peer, Murff shared the band’s official announcement on his own channels with a brief, poignant caption: “Prayers for Christian.”

Looking ahead, the band has reassured North American fans that Coma is fully expected to return to his post in time for Leg 2 of their domestic tour, which kicks off at the end of August. That upcoming leg will bring the band through major markets across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, featuring support from Caskets, Archers, Autumn Kings, and Holy Wars.

In the meantime, Black Veil Brides will charge forward through Germany, Greece, France, and the UK, carrying the emotional weight of the crisis while promoting their critically acclaimed seventh studio album, Vindicate, which dropped last month to widespread praise from major rock publications.
