In a recent interview with Rock ’N’ Blues Experience, Ronnie Romero dropped the news fans have been waiting for: the second album from Elegant Weapons is “recorded already… finished.” He described the process as a profound leap forward, adding, “This is more Elegant Weapons than the first one.”
Romero also outlined how the creative process differed from the debut album. On the first record, the songs were already laid down and he simply added vocals. This time, he said, the band worked together with Faulkner and producer Andy Sneap to build the songs from the ground up—lyrics, vocal lines, key changes, harmonies.
A cover-art concept is already in place and final mixes have been approved, yet the release date remains under negotiation. The band is considering changing labels—with final timing hinging on Faulkner’s commitments with Judas Priest.
“Understand this wasn’t supposed to be a one-album thing,” Faulkner explained previously. With the lineup—including Romero, Faulkner, Christopher Williams (Accept) on drums and Davey Rimmer (Uriah Heep) on bass—the goal is to operate as a “proper band” with multiple records and worldwide tours.
For fans of classic heavy metal and modern precision alike, this announcement delivers real excitement: a polished, collaborative effort that honors the musicians’ roots while forging a new identity. As Fancy Weapons step into their next chapter, one thing’s clear—they’re no longer just a side project.
