Foo Fighters Set to Rock Australia — Countdown Hints at 2026 Tour

The Foo Fighters are teasing a return Down Under, with hints pointing to a brand-new Australian tour. On Monday, December 1st, Frontier Touring posted a cryptic message featuring the band’s iconic logo alongside the caption: “Give me a reason, show me a sign,” a lyric from their recent single, Asking For a Friend. A countdown link embedded in the post is set to end at 3 a.m. Wednesday AEST, fueling speculation among fans.

This tease comes amid a significant chapter for the band. With Ilan Rubin now officially on drums, the Foo Fighters are gearing up for a U.S. stadium tour in 2026 and have already released fresh material, including Asking For a Friend. Frontman Dave Grohl described the track as “a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear,” hinting that it is “one of many songs to come.”

Grohl reflected on the band’s recent return to live performances, noting, “Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing.” Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, officially joined the group this year following Josh Freese’s departure. Freese had temporarily filled the drummer’s role after the tragic loss of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.

If confirmed, the Australian tour would mark the Foo Fighters’ first run in the country since 2023—their first tour without Hawkins. That 2023 leg was a triumphant statement, with Rolling Stone AU/NZ praising the band’s Melbourne show: “Clocking in at 2 hours and 40 minutes, this 2023 version of a Foos live show was ferocious, fun, and close to flawless. It served as a testament to how amazingly well the Foo Fighters have regrouped, the magic they can still create live, and proved they have all the passion and pieces in place to continue dominating this environment for years to come.”

The band’s 2026 U.S. stadium tour is set to kick off on August 4th at Rogers Stadium in Toronto and wrap up on September 26th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with the promise of more new music and the return of the Foos’ legendary live energy.
