KISS are not quite finished after all. Gene Simmons has confirmed that the band is back in the studio and has already recorded a new song written by Paul Stanley, marking the latest twist in a post-End Of The Road story many fans assumed had already closed. Simmons revealed the news in a six-minute video released by Sienna Hernandez, host of the Kiss-focused online show Kiss By Sienna, which asked him what he and Stanley had been doing since the band’s final show at Madison Square Garden in 2023. Simmons’ answer was simple: “Kiss is in the studio now,” and he added that they had just recorded a new track that Stanley wrote. He said he could not share more, but confirmed that the song will arrive at some point.

The revelation is striking because it comes after the band repeatedly framed The End Of The Road as their final touring chapter. That farewell run lasted from 2019 to 2023, ending with a final concert at Madison Square Garden, but Simmons’ latest comments make it clear that the band’s creative life is still active even if the road is behind them. The article’s framing says it plainly: The End Of The Road was not the end of the road.

Simmons also used the conversation to widen the focus beyond the new song. He said he is working on a documentary about the End Of The Road tour, and he plugged his upcoming Legends Of Rock expo in Las Vegas, which is set to feature figures including Geezer Butler, Steven Pearcy, Dave Davies, and Lita Ford. In the same stretch of the interview, he also discussed the release of the action-disaster thriller Deep Water, which he co-produced.

The new song is not the only piece of unreleased KISS material on the table. In Pollstar, Simmons, Stanley, and manager Doc McGhee confirmed that the band’s planned avatar show, expected to launch in 2028, will include new KISS songs that have never been heard before. Simmons said the show will include the classics, “surprises,” and “new songs” written by the band, and added that they already have songs finished.

That avatar project has already been positioned as the next major KISS chapter, but Simmons’ studio update shows the band is not waiting for 2028 to keep generating headlines. The group also returned to live work last November with two unmasked performances at Kiss Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas, and Simmons has confirmed they will repeat that format at the 2026 edition of the event, scheduled for November 13–15 at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas.

For fans, the takeaway is straightforward: KISS may have ended their traditional touring era, but they are still writing, recording, and planning future moves. A new Paul Stanley song, a documentary, an avatar show with unheard material, and another Vegas appearance all point in the same direction. The band’s final tour may be over, but the machine is still very much running.
