Florida Georgia Line fans may have reason to start paying attention again, because Tyler Hubbard says he and Brian Kelley are seriously considering a reunion of sorts in 2027. Speaking on the red carpet at the 2026 ACM Awards, Hubbard told Entertainment Tonight that the two have been “toying around” and “flirting” with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year, adding that it gets them both excited.

The possibility comes after a long stretch of uncertainty following the duo’s split in 2021. Hubbard and Kelley reportedly parted on what appeared to be a tense note, but more recently they have been reconnecting in a more personal way and rebuilding their friendship first, rather than rushing back into a full-blown music comeback. Hubbard said the past several months have felt like a season of healing, describing their time together as relaxed and familiar, with plenty of laughing, joking, and catching up.

For now, a new Florida Georgia Line album is not part of the conversation. Hubbard said there are no immediate plans for new duo music, explaining that he is focused on his solo career at the moment. Even so, he did not rule out live dates, saying the idea of playing shows together sounds like a lot of fun as long as they keep things low-stress and centered on enjoying the moment.

Florida Georgia Line was one of country music’s biggest crossover success stories after breaking through in 2012. By the time the group released Can’t Say I Ain’t Country in 2019, they were firmly established as hitmakers, but by the release of Life Rolls On in 2021, the partnership had clearly cooled. The band originally said only that they were moving on to solo projects, but later interviews suggested the breakup was more complicated than that.

Hubbard later said on Bussin’ With the Boys that Kelley raised the idea of going solo and caught him off guard, while Kelley said the solo conversation had actually been in motion for years. The pair also acknowledged that the COVID-19 era strained their friendship, and Kelley admitted political differences played some role in the fallout, though he said that was only one part of a larger split.

Despite that history, both artists have said they tried therapy in an effort to hold the band together, even if they could never fully get on the same page. Hubbard now says the relationship has improved enough that they are once again spending time together outside the music business, including a recent trip he planned to take with Kelley and both of their wives.

What makes this update feel bigger than a simple reunion rumor is the way Hubbard framed it. He said the renewed connection feels “really special,” and described the fan reaction as part of a bigger story about grace, healing, and forgiveness. In his view, the buzz around a possible reunion is not just about nostalgia — it reflects the emotional payoff of two former bandmates finding their way back to friendship.

For now, nothing is confirmed. But Hubbard’s latest comments are the clearest sign yet that Florida Georgia Line may not be finished as a live act after all. If those 2027 shows happen, they would mark a major moment for one of country music’s most successful duos and a reunion fans have been waiting on for years.
