Guns N’ Roses have announced two new tracks coming in December 2025, sending waves of excitement through their fan base. According to a recent post, the songs will be titled “Nothin’” and “Atlas”, and they’re scheduled for release on December 2.
Origins and Backstory
Fans and Reddit contributors believe both songs originated during the Chinese Democracy sessions in the 2000s. These tracks aren’t entirely fresh ideas — they’re outtakes from one of the band’s most controversial and long-delayed albums.
The name “Atlas” has appeared in the past under the working title “Atlas Shrugged.” According to setlist photos from 2025 tour dates, the track has been on their radar for a while — even though it hadn’t been performed live before.
Bass legend Duff McKagan also dropped a hint earlier this year: “We have a new song that is coming out soon… It’s called ‘Nothin’,” he said during an interview, sparking even more speculation.
Will They Be Part of a New Album?
It’s still unclear whether “Nothin’” and “Atlas” will be standalone singles, part of a future EP, or included on a full-length studio album.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash recently told Guitar World that the band has “so much material”, and that a new album is coming — even if they can’t quite schedule it yet. He continued: “It’ll just happen when it happens.”
Rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus echoed Slash’s optimism, noting that despite modern changes in music consumption, the band is still keen to release a full record.
What This Means in the Current Tour Cycle
The announcement comes as Guns N’ Roses prepare for a major 2026 world tour, following recent shows across Europe and the Americas. Their evolving setlist this year has already included surprising changes — from debut covers to dropping long-standing live staples.
Newest member Isaac Carpenter, who replaced longtime drummer Frank Ferrer, has been part of these tour changes. Carpenter’s dynamic drumming is helping drive the band’s renewed creative energy.
