Five Finger Death Punch have kicked off their next era with the release of “Eye of the Storm,” a new single that arrived on May 15, 2026 and is being positioned as the first taste of the band’s next album cycle. The song follows a long run of success for the group, who have now scored 12 straight Billboard Mainstream Rock chart-toppers, most recently with “The End” from their Best Of, Vol. 2 collection last year.
Loudwire describes “Eye of the Storm” as a heavy, furious track that opens the next chapter for the band in forceful style. The outlet notes that the song is the first new music from Five Finger Death Punch since they re-recorded their biggest hits for Best Of, Vol. 1 and Best Of, Vol. 2, and that it strongly suggests a full album rollout is not far behind.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory said the band spent three years shaping the record and narrowed the material down from nearly 30 songs to about 14 or 15. He said they even considered making it a double album at one point, and added that this will be the band’s 10th studio album and their 20th anniversary as a band, so they knew they had to “hit it hard.”
Bathory also said the new music is “heavier than anything we’ve done in years,” while still carrying a cinematic undertone. He said the project feels like a return to the grit and aggression of the band’s early years, but not as nostalgia. Instead, he called it the place where he came from musically, saying the feeling is “coming home at full speed.” He also praised Ivan Moody’s lyrics and melodies, saying the vocalist sounds “absolutely huge” on the record.
The song’s lyrics lean into that dark, combative tone. In the chorus, the band chants about forgiveness, destruction, and being trapped “in the eye of the storm,” while verses lean on themes like aggression, deception, and reflection. That makes the track sound like a mission statement for the album cycle rather than just a standalone single.
Five Finger Death Punch are also ramping up their live schedule. Their next show is set for June 18, 2026, at the Inn of the Mountain Gods resort in Mescalero, New Mexico, followed by a full headline tour starting July 20 in Camden, New Jersey with Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire supporting. Dates are currently booked through October, and the band also has a U.K. and European tour scheduled for early 2027.
For a band already deep into a major career milestone, “Eye of the Storm” sounds like more than a reset. It is a loud reminder that Five Finger Death Punch are not coasting into their 20th anniversary — they are charging into it.
