Journey Add Dates for “Final Frontier” Farewell Tour Amid Growing Band Tension

Journey have announced a long farewell run for 2026, officially billed as the Final Frontier Tour. The band said the trek will begin on February 28, 2026, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and wrap up on July 2, 2026, in Laredo, Texas, with tickets set to go on sale November 14. The announcement marks what the band says will be its final major road trip, and it comes with a full North American itinerary of 60 shows.

In the band’s announcement, guitarist Neal Schon called the tour “our heartfelt thank-you to the fans who’ve been with us every step of the way,” adding that Journey will bring “a brand-new production” and promised “the hits, the deep cuts, the energy, the spectacle.” He described the run as “a full-circle celebration of the music that’s brought us all together.”

Keyboardist Jonathan Cain also framed the trek as a final gift to fans, saying, “It’s been an incredible ride,” and explaining that the tour is about “gratitude, connection and one last chance to feel that magic together.” His statement made clear that Journey wants the farewell to feel celebratory rather than merely nostalgic.

The band’s next tour will also reflect some creative changes in the set list. In a recent conversation with Rick Beato, Schon said Journey plans to spend more time rehearsing and to bring in riffs and musical pieces from albums that did not all become hit songs, but still contain strong material he believes will work well live. He said he wants to use “all of the bits and pieces” and noted that some of those riffs are “ass-kicking” and built for the stage.

There is also uncertainty about what happens after this farewell run. The article notes that Schon previously posted the words “Journey Beyond” on social media and filed a trademark for the phrase, suggesting he may already be thinking about a future offshoot project after the Final Frontier Tour ends. The full itinerary stretches across the U.S. and Canada, opening in Pennsylvania and moving through the Northeast, Midwest, South, Mountain West, and West Coast before returning to the South for the final dates.
