Keith Urban Spreads Holiday Joy with Performance and Donation at Nashville Children’s Hospital
Country music superstar Keith Urban brought his signature sound and a generous dose of holiday spirit to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville earlier this week. In a visit designed to lift the spirits of young patients and their families, the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer spent the day engaging with the hospital community through music and conversation.
Urban’s visit centered around the hospital’s Seacrest Studios, a broadcast media center located within the facility. During his appearance, the country star participated in a question-and-answer session with patients, posed for numerous photos, and delivered a special acoustic performance. The intimate set included a sing-along, allowing the children to actively participate in the musical experience.

Beyond his time and performance, Urban made a tangible contribution to the hospital’s resources by donating a collection of guitars to the music therapy program. This program is a vital part of the hospital’s holistic care approach, utilizing personalized music interventions to assist children with pain management, anxiety reduction, and emotional coping during their stays.
Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, President of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, expressed deep gratitude for Urban’s continued support. “Keith is a wonderful friend to our hospital with several visits over the years,” she noted in a statement. She emphasized that the gift of instruments would significantly aid the hospital’s ability to provide comfort and healing through music therapy.
The charitable stop comes amidst a busy period for Urban, who recently released his first-ever full-length live album, HIGH AND A(LIVE). The project, recorded during his recent world tour, features 20 tracks that capture the energy of his live shows. Urban has frequently stated that performing live is his greatest passion, a sentiment he clearly extended to the smaller, more personal stage at the children’s hospital this holiday season.
