Gene Simmons, the ever-fiery bassist and co-lead singer of KISS, was hospitalized on October 7, 2025, after a single-vehicle crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. According to multiple sources, including People, the incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 25000 block of the road, when Simmons reportedly passed out or fainted behind the wheel, causing his Lincoln Navigator to veer across multiple lanes and strike a parked vehicle.

Los Angeles County Fire responded to the scene and transported Simmons to a hospital for evaluation. A spokesperson for the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station confirmed the crash details but did not immediately name the driver.

His wife, Shannon Tweed, later shared that Simmons had recently undergone a change in medication and alluded to dehydration as a possible contributing factor to the incident. She said he is now recovering at home.

Despite the alarming crash, Simmons himself reassured fans via social media that he was okay. “I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us who are horrible drivers,” he joked, a typically irreverent and self-aware line fitting of his rock persona.

This accident comes just weeks before KISS is set to reunite in Las Vegas for their 50th anniversary. Simmons was slated to appear alongside his bandmates as part of the group’s “KISS Army Storms Vegas” event, marking their first major performance since retiring from touring in 2023.

As of now, Simmons is home, recovering after medical checks and rest. The rock world is holding its breath—not for a comeback, but for one of its giants to heal and stand tall again.
