LINKIN PARK is gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated new song “Over Each Other,” with the official music video set to drop on Thursday, October 24. Directed by the band’s Joe Hahn, the video was shot in South Korea just after LINKIN PARK’s concert in the country on September 28.
Hahn, who directed some of the band’s most iconic videos like “Numb,” “From The Inside,” and “What I’ve Done,” returned to helm this latest project, which he described as being inspired by the style and emotion of a K-drama.
Hahn shared photos and his excitement on Instagram, saying, “It’s been a dream of mine to direct a project in Korea one day, and this happened! We embraced the K-ness of it all and made it feel like a K-drama.
Emily Armstrong absolutely crushed the performance, and I can’t wait to share this with everyone.” Along with Hahn’s post, he gave a shout-out to the crew, actor Kong Seong-ha, and his bandmates.
The track “Over Each Other,” along with the recent single “The Emptiness Machine” and “Heavy Is The Crown,” will feature on LINKIN PARK’s upcoming album, From Zero, slated for release on November 15 via Warner Records. The album marks LINKIN PARK’s first full-length project since 2017’s One More Light, the last album released before the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.
The new lineup includes fresh members, with singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain joining original bandmates Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Joe Hahn. Guitarist Alex Feder will be filling in for Delson during live performances on LINKIN PARK’s current From Zero tour.
From Zero takes its name from the band’s early days when they called themselves XERO, reflecting both their origins and their renewed journey. Shinoda explained, “Sonically and emotionally, the album embraces our signature sound while feeling fresh and full of life. We’re proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years and excited for the road ahead.”
In a bittersweet moment for the band, longtime drummer and founding member Rob Bourdon has stepped away from LINKIN PARK. Shinoda confirmed that Bourdon’s decision had been a long time coming, with his absence becoming noticeable to fans in recent years. “Rob told us he wanted some distance from the band, and while that was hard to hear, we support his decision and wish him the best,” Shinoda shared.
Despite Bourdon’s departure, LINKIN PARK’s core members found new energy in their collaborations with Armstrong and Brittain, leading to the creation of From Zero and a renewed sense of purpose.
“We feel empowered with this new lineup,” Shinoda added. “The music is vibrant, energized, and we’re weaving together our classic sound with new influences.”
As the band prepares for the album’s release, they’ve also added new dates to the From Zero tour, with stops in Paris, Dallas, and São Paulo. The album’s single “Heavy Is The Crown” also made waves as the official anthem for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, marking LINKIN PARK’s first-ever collaboration with Riot Games.
With From Zero, LINKIN PARK not only honors their past but also looks to the future with excitement and a redefined sound.
