Robert Plant has unveiled the second track from his upcoming album Saving Grace — a tender, rootsy take on the traditional spiritual “Gospel Plough.” The song closes out the record, which arrives on Sept. 26, and was famously covered by Bob Dylan on his 1962 debut.
Like much of Saving Grace, “Gospel Plough” was recorded in an intimate, organic way — sometimes in a barn, sometimes outdoors, with the sound of birds weaving naturally into the music.

The album is Plant’s 12th solo release, named after the band he formed in 2019 with singer Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, multi-instrumentalist Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown.
“It’s an impressive collection of people now,” Plant shared. “I can’t tell you how lucky I feel about this. With this mélange of music, song, and voice, anywhere and everywhere is the way to see the road ahead.”
