Metallica has officially expanded its 2026 residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, adding six more shows after the initial run quickly generated strong demand. The additional concerts will take place on May 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, and 20, 2026, giving fans more opportunities to experience the band inside one of the most technologically advanced venues in the world.
The Sphere residency is part of Metallica’s ongoing M72 World Tour, which supports their 2023 album 72 Seasons. Since launching the tour, the band has blended new material with landmark tracks from across their four-decade career, and the Las Vegas shows have become a centerpiece because of the venue’s immersive capabilities.
The Sphere’s massive wraparound LED interior and advanced audio system allow Metallica to present a fully integrated visual and sonic production. Guitarist Kirk Hammett has described the experience as pushing live performance into new territory, while drummer Lars Ulrich has emphasized that the added dates give more fans the chance to witness what the band has built inside the venue.
The expanded 2026 run now includes the six newly added May dates, all set on the Las Vegas Strip. Tickets were released through official sales channels, with early access for fan club members before opening to the general public.
With the residency growing, Metallica’s Sphere shows continue to stand out as one of the most ambitious live productions of their career — combining large-scale visuals with the band’s signature high-intensity performance style.
