The California Community Foundation (CCF) and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund are at the forefront of wildfire recovery efforts in Los Angeles County. A new wave of funding is set to bolster their efforts, addressing both immediate needs and long-term recovery in communities devastated by relentless wildfires.
CCF, with a storied history of aiding underserved communities, leverages partnerships with grassroots organizations and government agencies to ensure its resources reach those most in need. Its approach is guided by critical data, including insights from CalFire and the CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index. In response to the ongoing LA County wildfires, CCF has activated its Wildfire Recovery Fund, focusing on urgent relief efforts while laying the groundwork for rebuilding affected neighborhoods.
Half of the latest donation to support these efforts is earmarked for the CCF Wildfire Recovery Fund, reinforcing its capacity to meet the overwhelming needs of the affected communities.
Since January 7, the wildfires have ravaged the region, leaving a devastating toll in their wake. The fires have claimed at least 24 lives, forced nearly 100,000 residents to evacuate, scorched 40,000 acres, and destroyed over 12,000 structures. With no signs of abating, these fires have created an urgent need for coordinated relief and recovery measures.
Efforts like these are a lifeline for communities struggling to recover, providing both immediate aid and hope for a future beyond the flames.
