Mick Mars Calls Mötley Crüe ‘A Little Box’

Mick Mars

The departure of Mick Mars from Mötley Crüe has had more benefits than drawbacks, as he is now ‘out of the Mötley Crüe box.’

In a new interview with FOX17, the rocker discussed his most recent solo album, ‘The Other Side Of Mars.’ While reflecting on today’s music and its lack of ‘diversity,’ Mars explained the diversity of his album. “Diversity is not always present, but it is lacking today. I purposefully wrote in this manner to take you on a short journey. Every song you hear makes you imagine or see a different landscape or whatever; I suppose it’s a music scene. But I wanted to emphasize that I’m more than just a one-dimensional player and songwriter.

After receiving a comment on being more free after contributing to a world-renowned band for years, the rocker continued, “I feel more like I’m free to do whatever. […] There’s a billion different things that you can do, and you stay in this little box. I can’t do that.

The Next Album Is Already On The Way

Mick Mars is already working on his second album, even though the album was only released recently. In his words, the next album will have a slightly different sound than ‘The Other Side Of Mars.’

During the same interview, Dahl stated that Mars‘ announcement about working on his second solo album was ‘a heck of a pace’ given his recent solo album release. Mars responded.

Not really, because things have been floating around for a long time. I was extremely dedicated to my band. And so, when I’m free to do what I’m capable of, ‘The Other Side Of Mars’ emerges.”
