Nine Inch Nails and electronic producer Boys Noize have officially detailed their upcoming collaborative album Nine Inch Noize, confirming that the project will be released on April 17, 2026.
The announcement comes alongside their joint performances under the same name at Coachella 2026, where the collaboration first took shape as an expanded live concept blending industrial rock with techno-driven electronic production. The project is essentially an extension of the pair’s recent touring chemistry, where Boys Noize has regularly appeared alongside Nine Inch Nails during live shows and special set segments.
According to official details, the album is not a traditional studio record in the conventional sense, but rather a hybrid release built from the duo’s live performances and experimental studio sessions. Frontman Trent Reznor explained that the material was recorded across multiple environments, including studios, hotels, planes, and live settings, capturing the evolving nature of their collaboration.
The release follows a series of recent joint projects between the artists, including remix and production work on film and soundtrack material such as Challengers and the TRON: Ares score, where Boys Noize contributed additional production alongside Reznor and Atticus Ross. These collaborations laid the groundwork for what eventually became the Nine Inch Noize concept — a fully merged live-and-studio identity.
Reznor described the project as an organic extension of their touring experience, noting that what began as live experimentation during shows eventually evolved into a structured release. He also clarified that the album represents a snapshot of their evolving stage performances rather than a separately constructed traditional studio album.
The album features a total of 12 tracks, most of which are reworked versions of Nine Inch Nails material, presented through a new electronic-industrial lens. The full tracklist is as follows:
- Intro (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Vessel (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- She’s Gone Away (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Heresy (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Parasite (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Copy Of A (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Me I’m Not (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Closer (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- The Warning (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Memorabilia (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- Came Back Haunted (Nine Inch Noize Version)
- As Alive As You Need Me To Be (Nine Inch Noize Version)
Several of the tracks are reimaginings of key moments from the Nine Inch Nails catalog, reshaped with heavier electronic textures, club-driven rhythms, and industrial distortion influenced by Boys Noize’s production style. The result is a darker, more dance-oriented reinterpretation of the band’s already aggressive sound.
The project has also been closely tied to the duo’s recent live performances, which have received strong reactions for their fusion of industrial rock energy and techno experimentation. The Coachella 2026 set, in particular, showcased reworked versions of classic Nine Inch Nails songs in a new electronic format, giving fans an early preview of the album’s direction.
With the official release set for April 17, Nine Inch Noize represents one of the most ambitious cross-genre collaborations in recent years, merging two distinct sonic worlds into a single cohesive project built from both stage experimentation and studio innovation.
