A children’s choir based in Oslo, Norway, has garnered significant attention across social media platforms following a performance of Ozzy Osbourne’s 2001 track “Dreamer.” The rendition, performed by students from Nordpolen Skole, was organized as a specific tribute to the heavy metal icon following his death earlier this year.
The performance took place during the school’s annual Christmas concert. Choir director Kristina, who shared the footage online on December 17, explained that the song choice was a direct response to Osbourne’s passing in July 2025. “The day we lost Ozzy, I decided that my children’s choir would start this year’s Christmas concert with ‘Dreamer,'” Kristina stated in the post accompanying the video. She described the performance as an effort to honor the singer by sharing his “beautiful words” with a new generation.
The video features the choir members dressed in holiday attire, including red dresses and Santa hats, performing the ballad which originally appeared on Osbourne’s Down to Earth album. The lyrics, which reflect on environmental concerns and the hope for a more peaceful world, were highlighted by the director as having enduring significance.
The tribute quickly reached the Osbourne family. A day after the video was posted, Sharon Osbourne shared the clip to her own Instagram Story, amplifying its reach to her millions of followers. The acknowledgment from the Osbourne matriarch spurred a wave of positive commentary, with fans noting that the late singer would have appreciated the gesture.
This performance adds to a series of global tributes that have occurred since Osbourne’s death was announced on July 22. For the choir director, the performance was personal; she cited Osbourne’s music as a source of “instant comfort” and an “escape from reality” dating back to her own childhood. The Nordpolen Skole, described as an “activity school,” utilizes such performances to engage students in the arts outside of standard curriculum hours.
