Paul McCartney is giving fans a deeper look at his post-Beatles creative journey with the release of Man on the Run: Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack, a companion album for the upcoming documentary Man on the Run. The soundtrack collects 12 tracks spanning McCartney’s solo and Wings catalog, including three previously unreleased recordings and remixes that offer fresh perspectives on beloved classics.
Among the standout inclusions are:
- “Silly Love Songs (Demo)”, an early, unheard version of the Wings hit that offers a window into McCartney’s songwriting process.
- “Gotta Sing Gotta Dance”, a track from McCartney’s 1973 James Paul McCartney TV special that has never before appeared on an official release.
- “Live and Let Die (Rockshow)”, a performance version taken from Wings’ Rockshow film.
- “Arrow Through Me (Rough Mix)”, an alternative version of the track originally released on Back to the Egg.
These rarities join remastered Wings and McCartney tracks like “Too Many People,” “Mull of Kintyre,” “Band on the Run,” “Big Barn Bed,” and “Let Me Roll It”, blending familiar favorites with archival gems.
The Man on the Run documentary, directed by award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, explores McCartney’s transition from Beatle to solo artist and bandleader of Wings, capturing his challenges, reinventions and artistic evolution after leaving the world’s biggest band. Neville’s film combines interviews with McCartney and archival footage, with perspectives from collaborators, family members and fellow artists.
McCartney’s work with Wings, which included chart-topping albums and singles throughout the 1970s, is a central focus of both the film and soundtrack. The core trio — Paul, his wife Linda McCartney, and Denny Laine — helped define a crucial era in rock history, producing many of McCartney’s most enduring post-Beatles songs.
Formats and Special Editions

- Tangerine peel orange vinyl available via Amazon.
