Legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has postponed all of his remaining 2025 concerts with his band Blackmore’s Night, citing “medical reasons.”
Blackmore’s Night revealed the decision in a post on their official Facebook page, stating: “All Blackmore’s Night shows postponed at this point due to medical reasons. We are sorry for any inconvenience.” The nature of these medical problems has not been publicly disclosed.
Originally, six shows were scheduled for November 2025 — but only two went ahead: November 9 in Alexandria, Virginia, and November 13 in Lititz, Pennsylvania. The canceled dates include November 15 in Newtown, New Jersey; November 20 in Wilmington, Delaware; November 23 in Cohoes, New York; and November 29 in Tarrytown, New York.
Blackmore’s health struggles are not new. His wife and bandmate, Candice Night, revealed earlier this year that he suffered a heart attack in 2023. She also noted he has been dealing with other issues like gout (which affects his feet and finger mobility) and chronic back pain. Because of his condition, Blackmore reportedly has been advised by a cardiologist to avoid flying.
The postponement aligns with comments from Candice on a recent podcast, where she discussed how these ongoing health challenges make touring more difficult for him.
Fans of Blackmore’s Night — and of Blackmore himself — have expressed concern and support following the news. As the band navigates this break, everyone is hoping for a full recovery and a future return to the stage.
