Rock legends Iggy Pop and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will lead a high-profile Summer Concert Tour across New Zealand in January 2026, joined by Hoodoo Gurus and local favorites Zed.
The tour will kick off at Taupō Amphitheatre on Saturday, January 24, then move to Sherriff Block Arena in Whitianga on Monday, January 26, and wrap at Three Parks Outdoor Arena in Wānaka on Saturday, January 31.
Iggy Pop, often called the “Godfather of Punk,” is famous for wild stage antics and an unbreakable devotion to performance. His setlists typically include classics like “The Passenger,” “Lust for Life,” “Real Wild Child,” plus cuts from his 2023 album Every Loser.
When asked about coming to New Zealand, he said:
“I am knocked out by the chance to come and rock hard … mountains, lakes, beaches, and good times.”
Joan Jett, a rock pioneer who broke into a male-dominated scene with grit and tenacity, will bring her signature hits like “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “Bad Reputation”. She expressed excitement: “I’m thrilled to be playing in New Zealand and performing for the fans there.”
Australian rock band Hoodoo Gurus and Kiwi rock veterans Zed round out the lineup, offering local flair and nostalgia.
Ticket release details: a 48-hour presale for Greenstone members opens October 21, 2025 at 8:00 am, followed by a locals-only presale starting at 9:00 am the same day. General public tickets will go on sale October 23, 2025 at 9:00 am.
This tour arrives as a celebration of enduring rock mythology — a night to combine decades of passion, performance, and shared musical history in New Zealand’s scenic venues.
