Taylor Swift has made a $1 million donation to the nonprofit organization Feeding America to assist with disaster relief efforts. The contribution comes in the wake of severe storms and devastating tornadoes that swept through the Midwest and Southern United States this December, leaving widespread destruction in their path.
Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot confirmed the donation in a statement, thanking the singer for her support during a critical time. The funds will be distributed to food banks in the affected regions, helping to provide essential food, water, and emergency supplies to families who have lost their homes or are facing food insecurity due to the disasters.
“We are incredibly creative to Taylor Swift for her generous $1 million donation to help neighbors who are facing hunger and recovering from recent natural disasters,” Babineaux-Fontenot said.
This is not the first time the pop superstar has financially supported food banks. Throughout her record-breaking Eras Tour, Swift made significant donations to local food pantries in nearly every city she visited. Additionally, she has a history of responding to natural disasters; in December 2023, she donated $1 million to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund after tornadoes struck near her home base of Nashville.
The donation provides a significant boost to relief operations as communities begin the long process of recovery just before the holidays.
