The Beatles

The Beatles have received their first Brit Award nomination since 1983, with their farewell track, Now and Then, making the shortlist for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2025 ceremony.

The iconic band joins a competitive lineup, including Coldplay’s Feels Like I’m Falling in Love, Dua Lipa’s Training Season, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s Guess, Jade’s Angel of My Dreams, and Backbone by Chase and Status featuring Stormzy.

The Beatles’ History with the Brit Awards

The Beatles have a rich legacy at the Brit Awards. The band previously won four trophies, including three at the inaugural ceremony in 1977, which honored British music from 1952 to 1977. That year, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was named ‘Best Album’, and The Beatles also secured the ‘Best British Group’ title.

The last time the Brits recognized the band was in 1983, when they received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ award. Now, over four decades later, they are once again in the spotlight.

‘Now and Then’: A Historic Chart-Topping Track

Released in 2023, Now and Then quickly made history, reaching number one on the UK singles chart—a feat no Beatles song had achieved in 54 years. The track, pieced together using AI-assisted technology, blended the band’s signature sound with modern innovation.

In a glowing five-star review, Far Out described the song as “a work of art built on The Beatles’ unmatched chemistry.” The review praised McCartney’s intricate bassline, Lennon’s poignant piano, and the meticulous production that ensured the track remained true to the band’s legacy rather than feeling like a commercialized release.

As The Beatles return to the Brit Awards stage in 2025, Now and Then is a testament to their timeless impact on music.
