WATCH: Limp Bizkit Share Sam Rivers Tribute Video

Limp Bizkit has released the tribute video it created in memory of bassist Sam Rivers, who died on October 28, 2025, at the age of 48 after a sudden cardiac episode at his home. The band posted the video to YouTube, turning a painful moment from the road into a public farewell for one of its founding members.

Rivers’ death came just as Limp Bizkit were beginning a stretch of shows, so the band had to quickly bring in Richie Buxton on bass for live duties. Even with the replacement in place, the group made sure to honor Rivers properly at their first show without him, and the newly posted tribute video is part of that effort.

The emotional center of the story is John Otto’s message, which he posted the night of that first show. Otto said the night would be hard and described Rivers as his best friend, his brother, and the godfather to his daughters. He also thanked fans for the messages and tributes, ending with the simple line, “This one’s for you, Sammy.”

The tribute video gives the band a way to publicly acknowledge the loss while keeping Rivers’ memory present in the shows ahead. For Limp Bizkit, it is not just a video upload; it is a statement about friendship, history, and the bond that existed long before the stage lights.
