Billie Joe Armstrong met Adrienne Nesser in 1990 when Green Day was performing in Minneapolis. They tied the knot on July 2, 1994, and found out that she was pregnant just after the marriage. Armstrong and Nesser have been sharing their bond for more than 28 years.

Relationship with Billie Joe Armstrong

Adrienne encountered Billie Joe at a Green Day concert during their first tour in 1990. She questioned the singer where to find a copy of Green Day’s album. They began talking on the phone, and during their conversations, Adrienne even talked about her human sexuality class with Armstrong. Their first kiss encouraged an early Green Day song called “2000 Light Years Away” from their album, Kerplunk!

After organizing many Green Day tours in Minnesota to visit Adrienne, Billie Joe asked her to come to California. This experience motivated the song “Westbound Sign” on the 1995 album Insomniac. Just two weeks later, on July 2, 1994, they married in a brief backyard ceremony that lasted only five minutes. Their wedding had attendees from various religious backgrounds. Billie Joe recalled their wedding, saying, “Adrienne wore a simple, old, worn-out dress, and we got married in my backyard.”

They gave birth to their first son, Joseph Marciano Armstrong, on February 28, 1995, and their second son, Jakob Danger Armstrong on September 12, 1998.
