Why Robert Plant Refuses to Play Led Zeppelin Hits at His Solo Shows

Robert Plant, the legendary voice of Led Zeppelin, is going back on tour. This fall, he’ll be performing across North America with his acoustic group, Saving Grace.

The tour runs through October and November 2025, covering 14 cities. Instead of huge arenas, Plant is keeping it intimate—playing theaters, opera houses, and music halls. Fans in New York can catch him at the Paramount Theater on November 5 and the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on November 8.

The shows will support Plant’s upcoming album, Saving Grace, due out September 26 on Nonesuch Records. The record includes 10 tracks, many of them reinterpretations of songs by artists Plant admires, like Moby Grape, Blind Willie Johnson, and The Low Anthem. The first single, a cover of Low’s “Everybody’s Song,” is already out.

Plant has made it clear: this tour won’t be a trip down memory lane filled with Led Zeppelin’s biggest hits. Don’t expect “Stairway to Heaven” or “Rock and Roll.” Instead, he’s focusing on new music from Saving Grace, along with some lesser-played Zeppelin songs and highlights from his solo career.

This approach fits with Plant’s long-time outlook. He’s often said he prefers moving forward creatively rather than living in Zeppelin’s shadow.

Saving Grace formed in 2019 and has been steadily growing in popularity. Alongside Plant, the group features singer Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarists Tony Kelsey and Matt Worley, plus cellist Barney Morse-Brown. They’ve toured across Europe before, but this will be one of their biggest North American runs to date.

Tickets are on sale through platforms like Vivid Seats. Prices vary depending on the venue and seating—starting around $130 but going as high as $900 for premium spots.

For Robert Plant, this tour is another step in his lifelong journey of reinventing himself. He’s not chasing Zeppelin nostalgia, but instead bringing audiences a fresh blend of folk, blues, and acoustic rock with Saving Grace.
