Yes Unveil New Single “Turnaround Situation” From Upcoming Aurora Album

Yes have released “Turnaround Situation,” the second single from their upcoming album Aurora, giving fans another preview of the progressive rock veteran’s next chapter. The song follows the album’s title track, which arrived in April, and comes ahead of the full record’s release on June 12, 2026.

The new song arrives with a visualizer created by Matt Hutchings, who also handled the video for the title track. In the band’s official announcement, Yes described the release as part of the ongoing build toward their 24th studio album, while the new track itself explores conscience, regret, and the struggle to make the right choice.

Singer Jon Davison said “Turnaround Situation” grew out of a personal realization about the consequences of ignoring his conscience. He explained that the song is “part confession, part redemption,” and said it is about reaching a place where you stop fighting what you know is right. Davison added that the harder road is often the better one, because it ultimately brings clarity, self-respect, and inner freedom.

Yes guitarist Steve Howe said making the record was a joyful process and emphasized that the band still sees collaboration as the core of what makes a Yes song feel complete. Howe said they are “not trying to echo the past,” but instead carrying the spirit of Yes forward into something new. The album’s creative process began after the band wrapped its Classic Tales of YES tour in 2024 and gradually took shape through ideas developed in home studios and shared remotely.

Aurora is set to be Yes’ 24th studio album and follows The Quest from 2021 and Mirror to the Sky from 2023. The current lineup features Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood, and Jay Schellen, continuing the band’s long-running evolution while keeping its classic identity intact.

The album will be available in several formats, including a Limited Deluxe 180g Light Green 2LP + 2CD + Blu-ray artbook, a Limited Deluxe 2CD + Blu-ray artbook, a Gatefold 180g 2LP, a Special Edition CD Digipak, and digital editions. Some versions include artwork by Roger Dean and Freya Dean, plus bonus instrumental material and immersive audio mixes.

Yes also revealed the full Aurora track listing, which includes the title track, “Turnaround Situation,” “Love Lies Dreaming,” “Countermovement,” “Ariadne,” “All Hands on Deck,” “Outside the Box,” and “Emotional Intelligence,” plus the bonus tracks “Jambustin’” and “Watching the River Roll.”

Beyond the album, the band has also rescheduled its Fragile Tour for May 2027 in the UK, where they plan to perform the 1971 classic Fragile in full along with songs from across their catalog and material from Aurora. That tour will include timeless Yes favorites like “Heart of the Sunrise,” “South Side of the Sky,” and “Roundabout.”

For Yes, “Turnaround Situation” is more than just a new single. It is a statement of intent: reflective, melodic, and forward-looking, with the band using its long history as a foundation rather than a limitation. If this is the tone of Aurora, Yes may be setting up one of their most thoughtful late-career releases yet.
