Mötley Crüe returned to the stage in Las Vegas on September 12–13, launching their long-awaited residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Originally planned for spring 2025, the shows were rescheduled after frontman Vince Neil revealed he had suffered a stroke last Christmas.
Speaking to Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM, guitarist John 5 praised Neil’s remarkable comeback. “When we got into rehearsal, we were like, ‘Oh. He’s moving good.’ And then he started singing, and we were, like, ‘Oh my God, he’s singing great, actually.’ I’ve been in the band for three years now, and he’s singing so well. I’m, like, ‘Wow, this is incredible.’ And he looks great. I just go into his room all the time and tell him how proud I am of him.”
Neil had previously told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that his stroke left him unable to walk and forced him through a grueling recovery process. “The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.’ … Now I don’t need anything [to walk]. I’m back, I’m 90, 95 percent to where I was before, and it’s going to be great.”
The Crüe’s latest Vegas run is billed as a “tell-all show” that takes fans through the band’s notorious history and their record-breaking Stadium Tour. John 5 called the first two nights “some of the best shows we’ve ever done,” adding, “We’re all having a blast.”
The residency runs through October 3 at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
