Luke Bryan is pushing back on claims that his new song “Fish Hunt Golf Drink” was created with artificial intelligence. In a June 4, 2026 report, Taste of Country said Bryan addressed the criticism while golfing at the Memorial Pro-Am, where he called the AI accusations “completely false.”
Bryan said the song was written simply to be fun and to reflect the things he likes to do in his off time. “That song was designed for one thing,” he said, adding that it was meant to tell the world what he enjoys and strives to do. The song was written by Chase McGill and Matt Dragstrem, who also told Rolling Stone the track was “entirely human-created.”
The backlash arrived at a moment when AI in music has become a much bigger conversation, and Bryan’s very straightforward, lifestyle-based song became part of that debate almost immediately. Still, the explanation is simple: this was a human-written summer anthem, not a machine-made experiment.
