Jethro Tull are giving their often-overlooked 1999 album ‘J-Tull Dot Com’ a major new lease of life with a newly expanded, remixed, and remastered reissue.
The special edition will be released on August 29, 2026, via Rhino Records as a 2CD + Blu-ray deluxe package. The project features brand-new stereo mixes by longtime collaborator Steven Wilson, along with a wealth of previously unreleased material.
What’s Included in the Reissue:
- Disc 1: Newly remixed and remastered version of the original 1999 album.
- Disc 2: 14 previously unreleased tracks, alternate mixes, and outtakes.
- Blu-ray: High-resolution audio (96kHz/24-bit) of the new stereo mix, plus a 5.1 surround sound mix by Steven Wilson.
The original J-Tull Dot Com was released during the internet boom and featured a more experimental, electronic-influenced sound compared to the band’s classic prog-folk era. It included tracks such as “Bends Like a Willow,” “Wicked Windows,” and “Hunt By Numbers.”
Ian Anderson and the band have approved the new mixes, with Steven Wilson (known for his excellent work on King Crimson, Yes, and previous Tull reissues) handling the sonic upgrade.
J-Tull Dot Com has long been considered one of Jethro Tull’s most underrated albums. This expanded reissue gives fans a chance to rediscover it with much-improved sound quality and a generous amount of bonus material. Steven Wilson’s involvement is a big win — his attention to detail usually elevates these reissues significantly. For longtime Tull fans and newcomers alike, this is a welcome deep dive into a fascinating period of the band’s career.
