The ongoing Run For Your Lives World Tour—which celebrates a staggering 50 years since bassist Steve Harris founded the heavy metal institution on Christmas Day 1975—has already delivered some legendary moments. But for die-hard fans of Iron Maiden’s progressive-leaning golden era, nothing tops the spectacular resurfacing of “Infinite Dreams.”
On June 14, 2026, the band took the stage as the marquee headliner for a “Special Day” at the Rock for People festival at Park 360 in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Among a blistering 17-song setlist stacked to the brim with early-era gems, the performance of the 1988 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son classic stood out as a monumental highlight.
A 38-Year-Old Dream Awakened
Before the 2026 European leg kicked off on May 23 in Athens, Greece, “Infinite Dreams” had been completely absent from Iron Maiden’s live sets for 38 years. The song was last performed live on December 12, 1988, during the band’s legendary multi-night stand at the Hammersmith Odeon in London at the tail end of the Seventh Tour of a Seventh Tour.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson has been having a blast teasing audiences before launching into the track. Echoing his banter from the opening night in Athens, Dickinson told the massive Czech crowd:
“It’s a song that we have not played for many, many years. No, it’s not ‘Alexander The Great’. But it will be when you go to bed tonight—your ‘Infinite Dreams’!”
Capturing a Golden Setlist
The addition of “Infinite Dreams” serves as the crown jewel of a retrospective setlist heavily focusing on the band’s first nine studio albums. Surrounded by Paul Di’Anno-era classics like “Murders in the Rue Morgue” and “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as sweeping epics like “Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” the complex, shifting dynamics of “Infinite Dreams” sound as pristine and powerful in 2026 as they did in the late ’80s.
With Iron Maiden officially announcing a complete hiatus from touring for 2027, the current Run For Your Lives trek is shaping up to be a historic final chance for fans to witness these rare live deep cuts executed by the masters themselves.
