Def Leppard has kicked off 2026 with a burst of new energy, releasing a standalone rock single titled “Rejoice” — a powerful anthem marking the band’s first original track in more than a year. The song arrives in the lead-up to their Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, set to begin February 3, 2026, giving fans fresh material to anticipate before the band hits the stage.
“Rejoice” was crafted from a collaboration between singer Joe Elliott and guitarist Phil Collen, beginning with a lyrical idea about resilience and rising from rock bottom. Elliott brought the concept to Collen, who had a riff and drum loop that fit the mood perfectly, eventually evolving into a bold, chant-like hard rock track filled with energy and momentum.
Collen described the creative process as almost magical — taking his tribal-inspired drum loop and pairing it with Elliott’s vocal melody to form a sound that both artists feel has a heavier, more forceful vibe than much of their recent work. Producer Ronan McHugh then helped shape the final arrangement, enhancing the rhythmic and sonic impact of the track.
This release follows the band’s 2025 cover of “Stand by Me” — released to benefit wildfire victims — and their 2024 original “Just Like ’73,” which featured Tom Morello. “Rejoice” stands as the band’s first new singular original rock song in some time and suggests that Def Leppard’s creative engine remains in motion.
Def Leppard’s Rejoice is available now across streaming platforms and is expected to become a highlight of their Las Vegas setlist. In addition to hearing the track live at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace through February 28, the band’s plans for 2026 also include a UK and European tour in June and July, where fans will likely hear “Rejoice” alongside timeless favorites and deep catalog cuts.
This new single not only heralds Def Leppard’s return to the stage in a major residency but also points toward further creative output — potentially paving the way for additional singles and a new full-length album release in late 2026 or early 2027.
