Legendary guitarist and singer Warren Haynes has revealed plans for a full-fledged solo tour in early 2026, his first “proper” solo run. Haynes will launch what he’s calling the Winter of Warren shows on February 12, 2026, in Grass Valley, California, and then travel across the U.S. in intimate two-set nights, blending solo work with songs from Gov’t Mule and the Allman Brothers Band.
Haynes’ Vision for the Solo Tour
In a press release, Haynes expressed deep excitement about performing solo:
“Although I have done a few solo dates here and there, I’ve never afforded myself the opportunity to do an actual solo tour so I’m extremely excited about this,” he said.
He added that performing alone allows him to shift focus: “The focus becomes much more about my voice and the songs themselves and less about virtuoso guitar playing, although I try to include some fun guitar stuff as well.”
For Haynes, these stripped-down shows are a “rewarding experience … for me and hopefully for the audience as well.”

Why This Tour Is Special
This solo tour marks a rare moment for Haynes to step out from behind his band and play in a more intimate, stripped-back setting. He explains that without a full band, he can “express myself in a completely different way … more about my voice and the songs,” rather than leaning heavily on his guitar pyrotechnics.
According to multiple sources, each solo show is expected to feature two distinct sets, covering a broad swath of his career—from solo material to Gov’t Mule classics to Allman Brothers staples.
Context & Backstory
Haynes’ announcement comes after a busy period: in 2024, he released Million Voices Whisper, his first solo album in nearly a decade. He followed that with The Whisper Sessions (2025), a more intimate, stripped-down companion album featuring reimagined tracks and Allman Brothers covers, including a rendition of “Melissa.”
What Fans Can Expect
•Deep cuts & surprises: Because each show is solo and acoustic, Haynes has said there’s room for rare or unexpected songs.
•True intimacy: Small venue settings will let fans hear Haynes’ voice, stories, and guitar in a more personal way.
•Transition to full band energy: After his solo leg, fans still get a shot of electric Haynes through his band’s March tour.
