John Lennon recently opened up about his career and personal life in an interview with The Guardian, where he discussed his photography work and his latest release, the coffee table book Life’s Fragile Moments. Reflecting on his journey, Lennon revealed his frustration with being known primarily as “John Lennon’s son.” He shared, “It had always been, ‘John Lennon’s son, John Lennon’s son,’ and I’m going, ‘for f’s sake’… what I need to do is build up a body of work, a foundation I can stand on.” His focus remains on creating his own identity through his art, not to prove anything to others but to validate his abilities to himself.
Lennon also touched on the recent resurgence of The Beatles, noting that he often hears about the group’s activities only after the fact. “It’s news to me half the time,” he admitted, explaining that he’s never been part of the Beatles’ inner circle. Despite his distance from the band’s ongoing legacy, Lennon expressed his admiration, saying, “I’d rather be excited and impressed by what they did and continue to do.”
He also addressed his personal health, revealing a recent battle with skin cancer. After undergoing emergency surgery, he announced in December that he had received the “all clear” from his doctors, urging his followers to prioritize their health with regular checkups.
