Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson to star in ABBA horror

Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden, has landed a role in an upcoming horror film where an ABBA tribute band, trapped in a nightclub, faces the onset of the apocalypse.

The film’s director, Elza Kephart, is joined by his son Austin Dickinson, who wrote the screenplay. Andrew Prendergast is a creative mind behind the story and serves as a producer.

The horror comedy takes place in the world of tribute bands. It centers on Bjorn, the lead singer of Abbatoir, who spends his weekends performing ABBA hits at rather gloomy venues alongside bandmates Benny, Anni-Frid, and Agnetha.

Benny, the oldest and most dependent member of the group, discovers a Battle of the Bands competition for tribute acts. This revelation comes at a time when they are contemplating ending their run. As soon as they get to the event, a string of mishaps starts. Bjorn and the other band members force themselves to take cover behind the scenes due to an increasingly disruptive situation. The fight outside injures several band members. Things take a terrible turn when these injured individuals transform into aggressive zombies.

“We’re delighted to be producing this gory, bloody horror event based on Austin’s hilarious, terrifying, and frightening story about the inner workings of the music industry,” said Prendergast.

Austin Dickinson went on, “I’m incredibly honored to be collaborating with Raven Banner on this wild journey. Andrew, Elza, and I are eager for you all to see what we have in store. Put on some spandex, shave, and clean your wigs and axes. Bjorn will arrive.

Bruce, the father of Austin, recently revealed that he has been working on a new album since 2014. They anticipate releasing the album in 2024. It marks Dickinson’s first solo endeavor since the 2005 release of “Tyranny of Souls.”

Bruce Dickinson has been promoting the most recent song off the album “Afterglow of Ragnarok,” scheduled for release on December 1. Check out the teaser below.
