Jack Osbourne Honors Late Father with Rare Family Moments in Touching Tribute

Two weeks after the passing of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his son Jack Osbourne broke his silence. The 39-year-old posted a deeply personal Instagram video, set to Ozzy’s 1983 track “So Tired”, featuring never-before-seen moments spanning their lives— from childhood radio interviews to Ozzy hugging his grandchildren.

Jack began with raw honesty:

“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much.”

He went on to share,

“He was so many things to so many people, but I was lucky and blessed to be a part of a very small group who got to call him ‘Dad.’ My heart is heavy with sadness and sorrow, but also full of love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man, and I know what a blessing that is.”

He closed with a quote from Hunter S. Thompson—a fitting reflection of Ozzy’s life philosophy:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up… and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!’ That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you, Dad.”

The tribute included intimate footage, showing Ozzy with Jack’s children—Pearl, Andy, Minnie, and Maple—and snapshots from backstage at Black Sabbath’s final concert, among more tender family moments . This moving post followed the emotional public funeral procession held in Birmingham on July 30, drawing thousands who mourned and celebrated the Osbourne patriarch.
