Joe Perry Reveals When Steven Tyler Will Be Back On Stage With Aerosmith

Joe Perry

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry recently spoke with The Boston Globe about the band’s plans to resume touring following a hiatus caused by Steven Tyler’s health issues. Due to Tyler’s serious vocal cord and larynx injury, Aerosmith had to postpone their 2023 dates, including a New Year’s Eve show. The current ‘Peace Out’ tour, celebrating Aerosmith’s five decades of music, was set to wrap up in Montreal in January 2024. But Steven Tyler’s health issues prevented it.

“We’re so bummed we missed our New Year’s Eve show,” Perry said of their inability to perform on New Year’s Eve. But, with luck, we’ll be back out in the late summer and fall of 24. There’s always next year’s New Year’s Eve! Keep an eye out for that.”

Perry’s comments point to a hopeful return for Tyler and Aerosmith, with plans to continue touring in the late summer and fall of 2024.

Aerosmith Has Been Working On Remixes

Aerosmith announced the postponement of their entire farewell tour to 2024 due to Tyler’s condition requiring more attention than anticipated. The band revealed the severity of Tyler’s condition, which included a fractured larynx as well as vocal cord damage, necessitating ongoing care. Meanwhile, Aerosmith is still active musically. In an interview with The Boston Globe, Joe Perry shared some exciting news with fans, “We have a ton of unreleased material coming out over the next year and a half with remixes and alternate takes.”

Steven Tyler is also not taking time off to recover. Steven Tyler stated on social media that while his throat heals, he is using the time off to remix Aerosmith’s music. Tyler stated, “My throat is healing, but my ears still work!” So, in the meantime, it’s back to the studio. Begin mixing Aerosmith Aerosmith.”

We’ll be watching for remixed versions of their old songs as well as their return to the stage in the new year.
