Mick Mars Is ‘Fantasizing’ About Hiring Slash For His Next Solo Album

Mick Mars

Hiring Slash, the guitarist from Guns N’ Roses, is one of the new plans that former Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars has for his upcoming solo album.

The guitarist discussed his objectives for his upcoming solo album in a recent interview with WBAB Radio. From “The Other Side Of Mars,” it appears that Mars intends to take the music on his second solo album in a slightly different direction. He clarified I suppose I think of different things. At one point, I was just sort of daydreaming about it. I’m not even sure if it would be feasible. However, I was thinking, “Hey, come on in there and goof around,” and calling Slash in, saying, “Hey, Slash is a bud.” And Doug Pinnick [King’s X], just to play bass — not to sing, but for his bass playing. And I think that the fans would kind of dig that, but I don’t know what would come out of it. But I’m willing to take the chance, of course.”

Mick Mars Has Four ‘Thick’ Ideas For The Album

Despite not having released his debut solo album yet, the rock musician has already begun work on a follow-up album. He lists four “massively thick” ideas, as he puts it. In the same interview, he stated, To be honest, I can’t seem to get music out of my brain. This is where I spend a lot of time, in my studio. Again, for the diversity aspect of things, I already have four really good, distinct ideas from “The Other Side Of Mars” for a follow-up album. However, I’ll tell you that the songs I currently have are incredibly dense. I should say that it hits hard. When it enters, your face becomes buttery.

On February 23, “The Other Side Of Mars” will be released. Other guests on the LP include Alice Cooper keyboardist Paul Taylor, Korn drummer Ray Luzier, and Brion Gamboa, who handled lead vocals on the songs ‘Undone’ and ‘Killing Breed.’
