Nickelback are back with a new studio album and a fresh single built to make noise. On July 14, 2026, the band announced Everything Under the Sun, their 11th studio album, will arrive on October 30 via Virgin Music Group, and they also released “Rattle the Cage,” a hard-charging lead single featuring John 5 on guitar. It is Nickelback’s first new music since 2022’s Get Rollin’.
Frontman Chad Kroeger said the record captures the full range of the band’s sound, noting that it includes songs that hit hard, songs that take chances, and songs that reflect why the group has stayed together this long. He also called “Rattle the Cage” the right track to “kick the door open,” with the single built around Daniel Adair’s heavy drumming, Kroeger’s rasp, and John 5’s fiery guest solo.
The album rollout also signals a new chapter for the Canadian rock giants. Everything Under the Sun follows Get Rollin’ and continues the band’s run as one of modern rock’s most commercially durable acts. While Nickelback have spent years being one of the most debated bands in rock, they are still drawing major attention whenever they announce new music, and this release is already being framed as a comeback moment for fans who have waited for fresh material.

John 5’s appearance makes the single even more notable. The guitarist, who is now in Mötley Crüe and has long been known for his high-speed, shred-heavy style, adds a burst of extra bite to the song. That guest spot gives Nickelback’s lead single a bigger edge and helps set the tone for an album that seems designed to balance radio-ready hooks with heavier, more aggressive playing.
