In a recent conversation with Brent Porche from Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR radio station. The legendary figure of heavy metal music, Ozzy Osbourne, who embraced us with two extraordinary albums over the past four years, “Ordinary Man” in 2020 and “Patient Number 9” in 2022, both produced by the talented Andrew Watt, unveiled his exciting plans to create a new album in 2024.

Ozzy Osbourne had been dealing with health issues and a significant break. He expressed his enthusiasm to get back into the studio and continue his musical journey. The collaboration with Andrew Watt has been particularly successful. And he excitedly awaits Watt’s availability to begin yet another musical venture. Remarkably, Andrew Watt has become a highly sought-after producer, making his time even more precious in the music industry.

When discussing his songwriting process, Ozzy traditionally preferred having his material well-prepared before entering the studio. However, the approach for his last couple of albums was different, with a significant portion of the work unfolding during the recording process. It highlights his adaptability as an artist.

In contrast to his previous records, Ozzy hinted that the upcoming album would feature fewer guest artists, potentially only one. This indicates a more focused and personal musical direction for his next project.

During his conversation with Metal Hammer magazine, Ozzy revealed his aspiration to reunite with Andrew Watt and record in Watt’s new studio located in the U.K. The process has already begun, and recording will commence in the early part of the following year. This underscores Ozzy’s dedication to taking his time and crafting something special.

Ozzy Osbourne also shared a positive update on his health status after his “final surgery” in September, expressing relief that he’s had all the necessary surgeries. While he is still on the path to complete recovery and hasn’t fully regained his ability to walk. He’s relieved that the surgeries on his spine went well and he’s no longer in pain.

Ozzy’s journey to recovery has been eventful, with setbacks including his health challenges. It results even the cancellation of previously scheduled tours. Despite these hurdles, the iconic BLACK SABBATH frontman remains hopeful about returning to music as his condition improves.

Over the past year and a half, Ozzy managed to grace the stage for a few performances. It includes appearances at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in August 2022. And a memorable performance at the NFL halftime show during the season opener featuring the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills in September 2022.

Ozzy Osbourne’s album “Patient Number 9” achieved remarkable success, winning a Grammy Award in the “Best Rock Album” category at the 65th annual Grammy Awards. This marked another milestone in his illustrious career, adding to his previous Grammy wins and nominations.

With the release of “Patient Number 9” in September 2022, Ozzy celebrated his 13th solo studio album. The critically acclaimed record made a significant impact on charts worldwide. It includes debuting at No. 1 on multiple charts in the U.S. It also achieved career-high chart positions in various countries globally.

This album was a collaborative effort with a lineup of prestigious guest musicians. It features notable names like Tony Iommi, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready, and the prolific Zakk Wylde, who contributed to the majority of the tracks.  Other musicians such as Robert Trujillo of METALLICA and Duff McKagan of GUNS N’ ROSES added their talents to the basslines of several album tracks.
